Jr.NTR with Vamsi Mohan Hot Gossips

Tuesday, 14 April 2009
Jr NTR has been insisting TDP high command to bestow Vamsee Mohan, his friend, a ticket to contest from Gannavaram. It is revealed now that there are many criminal cases on Vamsee Mohan and he was the big man who involved in land kabza, murders and other cases when he has got good rapport with Paritala Ravi.

It is also said that a good number of binami properties of Late Paritala Ravi are on the name of Vamsee Mohan. There is a protest from a section of Krishna District population that Vamsee Mohan would make the district another Anantapuram if wins from that place.

Keeping this entire thing aside, why Jr NTR is behind Vamsee Mohan, a criminal? Is he afraid of him? That is the big question hitting the heads of Krishna district people.

Gopi chand And anushka Pairing 3rd Time

Gopichand is regarded as MASS hero.Almost all his films are minimum guarantee ones.He has the ability to pull both class and mass audience to theaters. His flicks do well in B,C centers.

Now Gopichand is all set to do another film with the Sauryam team. Anushka is being considered to play the female lead once again in this film.Anushka already acted in lakshyam and souryam with gopichand. There seems to be a good chemistry between the two. Gopichand will also be acting in the direction of Boyapati Seenu.

Prabhas As Parshu Ramudu

K Raghavendra Rao who has the credit of directing more than 100 films is now-a-days concentrating only on Devotional films. Even with devotional subjects he is winning the hearts of audience and making the films as commercial hit.'Annamayya' , 'Sri Ramadasu', 'Pandurangadu' are the movies to his credit. The ace director is now planning to bring the real life story of Parashuramudu - one of the 10 avatars of Lord MahaVishnu. JK Bharavi, who is an expert in gathering info on such subjects, is right now working on the script for the movie.

According to sources Prabhas will be playing the lead role in the movie. The decision was made from an earlier incident during the launch of director Rajamouli's home production Vishwamithra Creation’s logo, when Prabhas disguised himself in Parashuramudu’s attire. Director Raghavendra Rao impressed with his looks in the getup, decided to cast Prabhas in the role, deciding him to be apt for the subject.

Nagababu Offers For Chiranjeevi

Ever since Chiranjeevi announced his Praja Rajayam party, it’s been raining offers for ‘mega’ brother Nagababu.

According to industry sources, the producer-turned-actor has completed 20 to 25 films in 2008 alone! No mean achievement, given that he is neither known for his acting talent nor his looks.

The actor who was earlier considered good only for the ‘father’ and ‘brother’ roles is now being offered character roles as well as lead roles.

According to sources, filmmakers who want to get close to Chiranjeevi are now planning to do films with Nagababu, and if he is unable to give dates they are cajoling him to take up at least a special appearance.

Cashing in on his newfound saleability, the megastar’s brother is demanding hefty amounts, we hear. Nagababu’s career graph has taken an upward curve both in terms of the number of films he is doing and the amount he is charging. If sources are to be believed, he is now charging Rs 50 lakh for playing the lead character and Rs 5 to 10 lakh for a three-day shoot, while earlier his rates were around Rs 3 to 6 lakhs for a film!

Recently one producer from Kurnool made a film with Nagababu and released it last week. Nagababu played the lead in it and it bombed at the box-office. The film costed between Rs 3 crore to Rs 3.5 crore and we hear that the producer's intention was to meet Chiranjeevi, and he was least bothered about the film’s fate at the BO.

“The industry is full of politics, and many actors are aligning themselves with some political party or the other. It’s not good for the industry and it never happened before,” said a top filmmaker, who has a big production house and doesn’t want to divulge his name.

The sad fallout however of this development is that cinematic sensibilities are being compromised for political reasons. It isn’t a surprise that most of Nagababu’s recent releases have bombed at the box-office. Whatever it be, Chiranjeevi’s entry into politics has definitely helped his brother. The point is will this trend continue after the elections? Looks like it all depends on how Chiranjeevi fares in the elections.
The Telugu film industry organised a march, denouncing the 26/11 Mumbai terror strike and expressing solidarity with the armed forces which successfully eliminated the terrorists and saved many innocent lives, on Sunday.

Thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao, veteran actress Jamuna, stars Murali Mohan, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Rajendra Prasad, Rajasekhar, Jeevita, Jagapathi Babu, Srikanth, Roja, Ravi Teja, Raja, Ramcharan Tej, director K Raghavendra Rao and a
host of others took part in the march from Ravindra Bharati auditorium to the state assembly premises, where tribute was paid to Mahatma Gandhi.

The industry bigwigs also paid tributes to the security officers who lost their lives in the gun battle with the terrorists. They also paid homage to the civilians killed in the 60-hour attack.

Appealing to the people to stand united, they said, "We are a strong nation and unity in diversity is our strength. We shall not be cowed down by such heinous attacks."

"India is a country of peace and Indians are known across the world as peace-lovers. Incidents like the Mumbai terror attacks are totally unfortunate. But, we have to the resolve to face them and march ahead on the path of peace," Nageswara Rao said.

Balakrishna and Rajendra Prasad echoed Nageswara Rao's feelings and said Indians should set aside their differences like religion, region, caste and creed and stand united in the times of crisis.

The notable factor in the Tollywood rally was the coming together of the film personalities setting aside their political differences.

While Nandamuri Balakrishna, Roja, Murali Mohan, Raghavendra Rao and Paruchuri Gopalakrishna are Telugu Desam Party members, Rajasekhar and Jeevita are sailing with Congress. Ramcharan Tej is the son of Mega Star and Praja Rajyam Party chief Chiranjeevi while some other stars are Chiranjeevi's close associates.

But politics was not in play as Tollywood stood as one and organised the event under the aegis of AP Film Chamber of Commerce.

The Movie Artists' Association, Telugu Film Producers' Council, Telugu Film Directors' Association, AP Film Industry Employees Federation and other affiliate bodies took part too.

Genelia Mother, angry on media

Genelia D Souza is a busy actress. After bommarillu her life turned around and she has become hottest star now. She has many films in hand and she is also busy with offers in Bollywood. Genelia has been linked with Ritesh Deshmukh, her co-star in two films at the start of her career. The two have been romantically linked for over five years. Genelia has denied that there is anything going on between them. At one time the two were even said to be ready to tie the knot. The affair was not a approved by Ritesh’s father, Vilasrao Deshmukh, the former chief minister of Maharashtra. Genelia’s mother is angry with the media as even after five years after the two acted together in a film; the media continues to write about an affair between them. She says that Genelia and Ritesh are just good friends and there is nothing going on between them.

Robo Rajinikanth Next Movie songs cost 30 Crores

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Enthiran Robot has passed hands from Eros International and Ayngaran International to Sun Pictures. The movie, said to cost Rs 150 crore, has completed three schedules so far, including those in Peru, Goa, and Chennai. While Eros International had backed out of the project owing to a financial crisis more than a week ago, Ayngaran’s sudden withdrawal from the project has given rise to speculation.
While the production house remains tightlipped on the issue, industry sources claim that the movie, for which two songs have been completed, had already exceeded a production cost of Rs 30 crore. Director Shankar, who is known for his grand ways, had been insistent on having the movie shot with the original budget that it was planned for. For Sun Pictures, which has now officially announced that it will produce the movie, this is the first direct production venture.

Review

Story

King (Nagarjuna) belongs to the royal dynasty of Coimbatore. He has a doting mother (Geetha) and a loving brother (Deepak). He has three brother-in-laws who are after the blood of the king in order to get a share in their property. In this scenario, King gets killed when he visits Dehradoon for a project work.

Bottu Seenu (Nagarjuna) is a local mafia man in twin cities who does settlements. Gnaneswar (Srihari) is an innocent don of the city. Bottu Seenu falls in love with an aspiring singer Sravani (Trisha). But Sravani is of a soft type and she likes soft guys. Hence Bottu Seenu takes the avatar of a software engineer to impress her.

The rest of the story is all about whether King is killed or not.

Artists Performance:

Nagarjuna donned three roles of different dimensions. Among the three, Nagarjuna impresses with the mass character of Bottu Seenu. Nagarjuna should be appreciated for acting in some self-deprecating scenes (like Brahmanandam beating Nagarjuna's legs). Trisha’s character has two shades in the film and she is cute.Mamata Mohandas is not the second heroine of the film. She played an important character. Srihari is cool as an innocent don who has a thing for drawing horrible paintings. Brahmanandam donned the role of a music director. His character has stark resemblance to that of a popular music director in Telugu film industry. The shot in which he poses as a guitarist for Srihari's painting is hilarious. Sunil's role is nice as the guy whose identity is stolen by the hero.

Technical Departments:

Story: Story of the film is the potpourri of various films.

1. The basic plot of sibling rivalry is taken from Hindi flick Race.
2. The heroine – Srihari aspect is taken from Dhee
3. The spoofs in second half are done on Chandralekha and Chandramukhi.

Some of the shots like bullet trajectory (Wanted film), hiding gun in loo (Godfather) and beating the legs of a paralyzed person (Simhadri) too sound inspired.

Screenplay – Direction:

Seenu Vytla is an expert in screenplay. But the screenplay of this film is both good as well as bad. Good because the screenplay is extremely complicated. Bad because the finesse is missing. The director could not evenly distribute the twists in the film. He has one twist coming in interval. And he let all other twists come in the last 15 minutes of the film. The best thing I liked in the screenplay of the film is the thread of hero stealing the identity of Sunil. It is beautifully written, but was not used to the maximum extent. The concept of fetish for painting horror images was already done in Seenu Vytla’s ‘Anandamanandamaye’ film. It is more effectively used in this film (especially the three drops scene).Direction of the film is adequate. The director could have made Srihari character little serious as he is shown as a completely innocent man. The film needs a lot of trimming in second half from the moment the gang enters King's palace.

Other Departments:

Music of the film is average. The songs that interested me were King title song and Bammardi. The cute walking of Nagarjuna in a beach song shot in the nice. Kelli Dorji enacted the role of the rapper in King title song. The much touted 8-heroine song does not impress. Some of the steps in this song were adapted from OSO song. Background music of the film should have been better. Cinematography is adequate. Dialogues by Ravi fits the bill. Some dialogues like 'King gelavadu. Gelipistadu' are good. Few dialogues like 'King ni pattukovadam kastame kaadu, asadhyam kuda' (Hindi Don's dialogue 'Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin na mumkin hai') are clichéd. Editing should have been crisper as there is lot of lag in the second half. Production values for the film are good.

Final Analysis:

First half of the film is alright. Second half should have been better. The climax of the film looks contrived. The plus points of the film are Nagarjuna and a few 'Seenu Vytla' kind of comic moments. The weakness is unevenly distributed content in the film. We definitely expect a better film from Seenu Vytla for the kind of talent he possesses. We have to wait and see how audiences embrace it.

Anushka In Men's Hostel

Got shocked to see this news?At a survey done some years ago Sonali Bendre was the most downloaded wall paper in the entire country. Which means, youth all over India were so excited to see her photographs. But today Anushka’s photographs are ruling the walls of the various hostels of the Osmania and Andhra University. Big posters of the lady in inviting dresses are being seen at these hostel rooms. Many say Anushka is the flavor of the Telugu youth. The posters are going unnoticed by the hostel maintenance staff. Many students say there is stiff competition from other students who want some other posters should be placed other than anushka. But as of now anushka rules the mens hostels.

Genelia Chit Chat

Charming Genelia is now the most happening actress in India. Cute and bubbly characters in Bommarillu in and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na in Hindi paved her way to men’s heart. With a string of successes in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Kananda, Genelia is practically living in her suitcases what with her constant juggling between cities. After the super success of Ready, Genelia will be seen in director Krishnavamsi’s Sasirekhaa Parinyam that is getting ready for release. On the location of the movie in Ramoji Film City, she spoke with film media about the film and her personal life. Excerpts from the chitchat..

Tell us about Sasirekhaa Parinayam

I play the role of a spirited, independent girl called Sasirekha. She doesn’t believe in dowry system and runs away from her marriage on this. On her journey she meets Abhi (played by Tarun) and what happens then is the crux of the movie. It is a story of a girl’s journey finding independence, striving for individuality. In our society, women are taken for granted. Sasirekha questions this.

Is it a rebellion kind of character!

Not exactly! Tell me which girl likes a price tag attached to her? That is what Sasirekha is against for and leaves her marriage. Sasirekha is like a child but with mature thinking. You can say, a child in women’s body. I am sure that every girl can easily relate with this Sasirekha. See, every girl working outside and in offices, tries to be diplomatic. They are always on guard. Unlike them, Sasirekha is free spirited.

Which character reflects Genelia - Hasini or Sasirekha?

Hasini is a role model but you can find qualities of Sasirekha in me too.

The title suggests that it is a heroine-oriented film!

No, it is not. 90 percent of the film revolves around both the lead characters – Tarun and me.

In Ready too, You did run away from marriage and you play the same role in Sasirekhaa Parinayam.

Ha..Ha. I hope I don’t have to runway from my own marriage in real life. Jokes apart, the two characters are quite different to each other. May be, I can be best choice for the Telugu version of RunAway Bride if someone wants to remake it (laughs).

Rumors have it that the movie is based on Jab We Met?

I want to categorically say that Sasirekhaa Parinayam is not remake of Jab We Met. It is nothing to do with that Bollywood movie. I don’t know how the rumors began but Sasirekhaa Parinayam has no similarities with any of the movies.

How is it working with director Krishnavamsi?

Initially I had not clue about his working style but I heard that he was egoistic, tough, etc. Having worked with him now, I found them false and learnt so much from him. His passion for films, his understanding benefited me profoundly. All these six years in my movie field, this is the first time that I have actually learnt a lot about many aspects about filmmaking, acting and others things. I have taken so much from Sasirekhaa Parinayam, which will help further my career.

Have you seen any of his films?

Yes. Loved his Murari. Actually, the briefing that I was given for Bommarillu was that the family setup would be on the lines of Murari.

Krishnavamsi is known for portraying heroines very glamorously!

He portrayed me extremely well in this film. His heroines are real, the ones that you actually see in our day-to-day life and no artificiality attached to them. He makes them look so glamorous yet have a soul to them. His heroines are not showpieces. Yes, I look glamorous but have no qualms the way he is shown me.

You are doing Bommarillu in all the three languages. How do you feel?

In fact, I am feeling so happy and I must be fortunate to play the same role in all the three languages - in Telugu, Tamil and now in Hindi. In most cases, when a film is remade in other languages the cast is replaced. Only in my case, it didn’t happen. I feel I am lucky.

How is life after Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’s success?

It has been overwhelming experience in the last one year. I had four hits in four languages this year. Ready in Telugu, Santosh Subramaniam in Tamil, Jaane Tu in Hindi, and maiden Kannada movie Satya In Love are big hits. Perhaps, I am the only actress to have four hits in four different languages in period of 12 months.

In all these four, which filmdom you prefer personally?

I enjoy working all the film industries. Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi audiences have received me so well and gave me success. Personally, Telugu is like my home. I am not saying it because I am doing a Telugu movie. In the last six years, my growth in Telugu has been very consistent - I had done second leads as well as heroine roles and now got prominence. Tollywood is my home.

How do you maintain your svelte figure?

Frankly speaking I eat in healthy way. That doesn’t meant that I don’t take Biryani’s or oil foods but I eat properly. Also I was athlete in my school days.

Current projects?

I am doing two Hindi films - Its My Life with Harman Baweja (Remake of Bommarillu), Life Partner directed by Abbas Mastan. Will accept Telugu film next year.

Surya S/O Krishnan Movie Review

Film: Surya S/O Krishnan
My Rating: 3/5
Music: Harris Jayaraj
Producer: Aascar Films
Direction: Gautham Vasudev Menon
Release Date: Nov 14th, 2008
Cast: Surya Siva Kumar, Simran, Divya Spandana, Sameera Reddy etc

My Review:

Surya S/O Krishnan is an emblematic Gautham Menon film which appears to be pretty close to his factual life along with a message at the conclusion. The movie has a two hour 48 minutes extensive heavy sentiment drama and has all the ingredients of anecdote, love, comedy and at last promotes non- smoking deeply, as it gives a hard slap to all the smokers who can face the cruel outcome of dreaded disease Cancer. Surya is outstanding and Simran pilfers the show with her outstanding acting skills.

Story:

Surya (Junior Surya), son of Krishnan is a sensitively bonded guy with his parents as well as his sister. He grows up seeing his parent’s enormous love en route for each other and the fervor towards their son and daughter. The dissimilar phases of life, are well portrayed in this film as the child, teenage life, adulthood in a man’s world are well exemplified. Surya is intimately close to his father and Simran who plays the character of mother to him, motivates him for being strappingly will- powered and also to be psychologically weak sometimes.

Krishnan (Senior Surya) is Surya’s Father who is a middle class man and ventures out to USA in order to fetch his true love Simran. They marry and are proud parents of two siblings. Surya and his sister as told earlier get the inspiration and lesson from their parents that nothing is impossible in this world if your allegiance and the sacredness in heart are well pure.
With these values, Junior Surya gets into his adult hood with a brief love phase in his life. He falls in love with Meghna (Sameera reddy) but the love ends as soon as it is started as Meghna decides to part her ways in order to pursue her professional dreams. She prefers to chase her dreams rather than accompanying Surya. Moved by this Surya regrets to be in love with Meghna and desires for a beloved who is in lines of his mother Malini (Simran).

Surya fetches a defense cop profession and is posted somewhere in Jammu and Kashmir. After a few reels of regular kidnapping and goon bashing drama, Surya’s heroic skills are well expressed. Unluckily, he is informed about his father Krishnan’s illness of cancer and leaves the base camp, to be with his family.

He immediately packs and moves to his family and realizes that his father Krishnan is ill and his mother Malini is shaken by this incident. But again, Krishnan inspires his son by his strong will power and determination to invade out through his illness.

Then Surya’s wife Priya (Divya Spandana) enters his life and they marry happily. But Krishnan’s illness deepens day by day and this makes him close to his grave. In a scene which is heart touching, where he tries hard to express something to his grandson, but fails to do as his Vocal Cords fail indicating the last stages of life.

The complete movie is crammed with emotion and love towards a family. Furthermore the movie is loaded with a poignant drama in all scenes.

Lastly, the movie tops with an acceptable climax plus this is a anticipation which must be seen on the big screen.

Performances:

Surya Siva Kumar plays the dual role of Krishnan and Surya in this film. The actor doesn’t need a certificate for his acting as he has immense talent. The senior Surya looks more promising with his make up and depicts a perfect middle aged person with lots of experience to reveal. Junior Surya plays the role of an obedient son to his father and is tinged with some love, romance and mother sentiment from the female characters.

Simran plays the character of Malini who is a Pativratha to Krishnan. She plays the role with ease and takes on the limelight of this film.

Priya is the character played by Divya Spandana. The character demands some love, attitude and also sometimes emotions and Divya Justifies her character as a wife to Surya.

Sameera Reddy enters the life of the hero like a breeze and plays the character of Meghna. She moves around the trees with the hero and finally departs.
On the total, the movie is exceedingly sloppy drama which has zero for the mass crowds.

Review

Story

Ravi (Ravi Teja) is a struggling assistant director who works for a mediocre director ‘Idly’ Viswanadh (modeled after self-deprecating ‘Puri’ Jagannadh). Ravi lives with his mother (Rama Prabha) who is suffering from cancer. Sandhya (Siya) is a struggling side dancer who aspires to become a heroine. She is harassed by her brother-in-law (Krishna Bhagawan) who acts more like a broker. Yaadu (Supreet) is a goon who harasses Sandhya. The rest of the story is all about how Ravi and Sandhya realize their dreams.

Artists Performance:

Ravi Teja: Ravi Teja, who is known for his hyperactive energy with lots of attitude, gave a subdued performance in this film. There is lot of honesty and intensity in certain scenes enacted by him. His dialogue delivery is also slow compared to his earlier films; that’s why dialogues like ‘tuduchukunte pothundanukunte…’ and ‘road meda penta…’ are clearly audible in this film compared to Ravi Teja’s earlier films.

Others: Actress Siya is appropriate for the role of a side actress who becomes heroine at a later point of time. Subbaraju stands out with excellent performance though he imitated Mahesh Babu at times. Mumaith Khan enacted herself as a heroine in this film. She is adequate. Supreet excels in the role of the main villain. Sayaji Shinde is very good as the hapless Telugu movie producer. Brahmanandam is hilarious as a mediocre director and he provides some entertainment. Krishna Bhagawan is good as the nasty guy. Venu Madhav is hilarious in ‘Tamil director’ get up and in the ‘deep shit’ episode. Sairam Shankar is nice as the fans president. MS Narayana, Satyam Rajesh and Rama Prabha are fair. VV Vinayak donned the guest role of himself. Ali – the aasthana comedian of Puri Jagan’s movies – is conspicuously absent in this movie.

Technical departments:

Story - screenplay - direction: Basic story of the film is about a struggling assistant director becoming a director. There are two ways to narrate this story. One is to make an artsy film and another is to do a pucca commercial film. Puri Jagan chose a mid path for this film. Hence, certain scenes in the film look honest and some look forced for commercial reasons. Direction is adequate in parts. Screenplay is not good. Dialogues are good in parts.

The following scenes are good –

1. The introduction scene in which heroine says that she is in the profession of side dancer because she has to feed her family members.

2. The scene in which hero explains to heroine that people love each other for their own selfish reasons. One of the best in Puri Jagan’s films.

3. Venu Madhav’s two scenes: (a). changing his name Senthil to impress heroes of Telugu by using Tamil name. (b). ‘Deep shit’ episode (adapted from one of those forwarded emails we usually get).

4. The doctor explaining how clever the hero is by explaining the consequences of cutting the behinds on goons using a knife.

5. The fans president episodes.

The following points are unconvincing

1. The real struggle of hero character is never showcased. He reaches his goal smoothly with a little resistance. Hence you would never empathize with the character of the hero.

2. Casting item girl Mumaith Khan for the role of heroine who later attempts suicide. The character of Mumaith Khan could not derive any sympathy because of the miscasting.

3. Hero would be beating up villain several times in the film and there is never any resistance from the villain. Hence there is no payoff in the climax episode when Ravi Teja repeats the dialogue ‘tuduchukunte pothundanukunte…’ and beats the villain again.

4. There is glorification of film industry. The only negative character shown in the film industry is that of Brahmanandam character titled it as ‘Idly Viswanadh’. Puri Jagan tried to play it safe by not criticizing anybody in film industry. He chose Idly Viswanadh and criticized the directors because he could justify that ‘Idly Viswanadh’ is modeled after ‘Puri Jagannadh’ so that no other director would blame him. Hence the honesty in the film is missing.

5. Puri Jagan blamed NRI crowds to be miserly people (one of the character uses the word "kakkurty") who read web reviews to save $8. (Probably Puri Jagan is not aware that his previous film Chirutha was previewed for $20 in USA and his latest film Neninthe costs $12 a ticket in most of USA centers). It is not the money NRIs care about. They are more concerned about time, efforts and have a fear of losing their peace of mind by watching a bad film. Puri Jagan also suggested that people should watch the film first and then read the reviews. Not the other way round!

6. On one hand Puri Jagan blamed the gossip sites (in a way it is justified) and on the other hand, he propagates gossips with Neninthe film that web reviewers take money and do distribution to give good rating to the movies.

Other departments: Music by Chakri is good. Krishna Nagare Mava (penned by Bhaskarabhatla) is excellent. ‘Oh I miss you’ (sung by Raghu Kunche) is pretty romantic. And I liked the way Puri Jagan integrated the narrative of the story into the songs picturization. Cinematography by Shyam K Naidu is good. Editing is adequate. Fight sequences are OK.

Analysis: First half of the film is adequate. There are no payoff elements in the second half. Certain scenes in the film are good and entertaining while some scenes are bad and uninteresting. Overall, Neninthe is more like a personal film made from Puri Jagan’s personal experiences. It is certainly not a universal film on Universal Media (production house of this film that delivered universal blockbusters like Desa Muduru & Dubai Seenu).

Story

Lav (Tanish) is a kind of guy whose aim in life is to ‘patao’ a girl. Like innumerable teenage boys, he just wants to experience the feeling of having a girl friend. Anu (Madhavi Latha) is a responsible teenage girl who works part-time in a coffee shop. Lav wants to love her, but she is not of that type. In an occasion, he saves Anu’s father. Impressed with him, she asks him to ask for any favor. Lav asks Anu to be his girl friend for 15 days. Anu agrees to it on certain conditions (no physical touch). In the process, the detached Anu falls in love with Lav. And Lav is more excited to flaunt his girl friend to his friends than actually caring for her. The rest of the story is all about how Lav realizes what’s true love is.

Artists Performance

Tanish is extremely talented. His dialogue delivery and ease in acting make him standout. His debut is one of the most promising debuts in this year. The guy who did the role of hero’s friend is also very natural. The actor who donned the villain role is good. Heroine Madhavi Latha is promising. This film also sports many technicians as actors. Director Kasi Viswanath (Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu director) did the role of hero’s father and he is cool. There is lot of comedy timing in him. Art director Narayana Reddy acted as the tonsured boy who is an assistant to villain. Writer Prasad did the role of heroine’s sadistic neighbor who keeps asking heroine’s father to look at positive side in disastrous situations. Director Sarath did another prominent role. Item girl Raksha did a nice role of hero’s mother.

Technical departments

Story - screenplay - direction: This film deals with the social problem of many teenage boys who just want to have a girl friend for the kick of it. It also touches the burning issue of ‘cell phone videos leakage’. Ravi Babu narrated the entire film from the hero’s point of view by making his narrate from the moment he is born. Ravi Babu has the experience of ad-film making. And he used that ad-film touch to his Allari and Soggadu (only first half). With the freedom given by Ramoji, Ravi Babu gave that touch to the entire film. There is a color pattern (green and bluish) and sophisticated humor angle. He dealt first half of the film very well. However, he could have done the last half an hour of the film (screenplay glitch) in a better way. The following comedy/creative scenes are excellent

1. The entire humor involving the kids.
2. The van episode: The Annapurna mobile van is used excellently to create a series of riotous moments in the film.
3. Hero realizes the focusing aspect by looking at a boy’s focusing on a single fruit.
4. The pick-up lines hero uses to ‘patao’ girls.
5. The use of paint dabbas by family members.
6. The hero’s plight of giving a love note in the song.

The following aspects should have been dealt well

1. Crude comedy used for heroine’s father heart-attack.
2. The final episode hero-heroine-villain tussle.

Other departments:

The music by Sekhar Chandra (son of cinematographer Hari Anumolu) stands out. Pavu Takkuva Tommidi sung by Jassie Gift is extremely peppy and is excellently shot. The ‘black n white’ theme song with black articles fading away is very creative. Other songs also reflect the theme and mood of the film (neither forced duets nor routine songs). Cinematography by Sudhakar Reddy is very good. The art work by Narayana Reddy deserves mention. Dialogues are neat. The entire film is shot at Ramoji Film City (hence you see Margadasi advertisements in backdrop during most part of the film). Ramoji Rao should be commended for allowing Ravi Babu to shoot the entire film the way he wanted to. They stuck to a theme and followed it throughout.

Final Analysis:

The initial half an hour of the film is excellent. First half of the film is good. Second half is adequate. The last half an hour should have been dealt better. The plus points of the film are humor and romance. On the flip side, the last half an hour should have been dealt better. On a whole, Nachavule is worth a watch for being a different flick and a theme film.

Review

Story

Krish Jagarlamudi (not the Gamyam director, but hero Ram) is a spoilt brat who looks for shortcuts to earn fame and money. Unable to clear his graduation and get a job, Krish plans to love and marry a rich girl Manju (Sheela) who is going to USA. In the process he meets another girl Meenu (Hansika Motwani) and really falls in love with her. The rest of the story is all about when both these girls come to know about the cheating nature of Krish. There is also a political twist to the story.

Artists Performance:

Ram:

After Devdas, this film gives an oppurtunity to Ram to portray the entire gamut of emotions. His dances are amazing in Hare Hare Rama (1st song) and Bagdad Gajadonga (last song). He moves his body like a spring in those songs. He handles comedy department exceptionally well with the right dialogue delivery and diction. However, we do notice an uncanny resemblance to the body language of Pawan Kalyan in Ram’s performance.

Heroines:

Hansika Motwani did a traditional character in this film. She is pretty good. The fans of Hansika will have a whale of time in ‘Kalloki Dilloki’ song where she wore a micro mini skirt (with a low angle camera). Sheela who looks pretty traditional did the role of temptress in this film. And she is extremely glamorous with liberal exposure of her dusky skin.

Other actors:

Sunil did a full-length role in this film after a long gap. He is extremely good and provides lot of entertainment. After doing Kokapeta Aunty in Tulasi, Jhansi has done another entertaining role that speaks in Nellore slang. Brahmanandam did the role of a kidnapped doc and he is just average. Introduction scene of Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao is good. One does not understand what Krishna Bhagawan is doing in this film. He has one insignificant scene with a single dialogue. Ali is also wasted. Mukesh Rushi, Pradeep Rawat, Naresh, Dharmavarapu and Telangana Sakuntala are adequate.

Technical Departments:

Story of the film is provided by Surya. He judiciously mixed a triangular love story with an action backdrop. Screenplay of the film is considerably good. MS Raju borrowed the Vaali screenplay where hero shows a photo of a girl to tell the story to heroine and the girl in photo meet hero in real. The thread of conversing in numbers has got good commercial payoff in the second half. The direction by B Gopal is decent in the first half. There is a bit of lag in pre-climax scenes. The hero shifting his love from Sheela and Hansika should have been shot more efficiently. The villains are projected as the most dreaded till climax and they are shown in the positive light at end. Hence there is no commercial payoff for the action/mass part of the film.

Music by Chakri is good. The picturization of the songs is excellent. But the director could not place these songs effectively into the film. The choreography for 1st song (Hare Hare) and last song (Bagdad Gajadonga) by Prem Rakshit is pretty cool. Cinematography is nice. The locations in 'Kalaganna' song are good. Dialogues by Paruchuri brothers are good. They wrote nice comedy one-liners as well as good mass dialogues. Production values by MS Raju are grand.

Final Analysis:

First half of the film is handled well and provides entertainment. You can see B Gopal kind of mass elements in the second half. The movie goes slow towards the climax of the film. The plus points of the film are Ram and first half. On the flip side, there is a bit of lag in the last half an hour of the film and more clarity is needed in love triangle. On a whole, Maska has got entertainment elements that might work at box office.

Fights: Ram Lakshma, Vijay
Story, Screenplay, Production, Direction: EVV Satyanarayana
Cast: Allari Naresh, Madalasa Sarma, Shayaji Shinde, Sudha, Chandramohan, Saira Banu etc

Review

Story

Sampath (Allari Naresh) is an orphan who works in a gym center. He hates love between a young man and young girl and keeps on opposing that in public. This catches the attention of an arrogant rich girl Meghna (Madalasa Sharma) who challenges her friends that she could pull him in love and make him a puppet around her. Her attempts fail all the while. Then she falls in his love in real. But still he denies her. Then Meghna takes the help of her brother to convince Sampath. In a surprising incident when Meghna's brother approaches Sampath, latter kills the former. Why he killed? What are his motives? That forms the rest of the story. It ended up as an age old revenge drama.

Artists Performance:

Allari Naresh didn't leave his trade mark style of dialogue delivery and instant punches but since the film happened to be a serious flick, the scope for humor is less. But Naresh got a scope to portray seriousness and revenge this time.

Madalasa Sharma is like any other Mumbai girl. She has delivered average performance. She is there for glamour in full dose indeed.

Chandra Mohan and Sudha are there for melodrama and Saira Banu is there for a long pathetic episode. Sayaji Shinde maintained mannerism of singing songs from old films as per situation.

Others are just ok. Music is above average a couple of songs 'Tappusodara..', 'Vennelavo..' really pleased the ears.

Dialogues by Tadi Balaram and Satish Vegesna are apt and rightly grooved in.

Appearance of lyricist Vanamali before a song in his real-time character is interesting.

EVV has chosen an outdated narration, although the subject is universal.

Final Analysis:

It's like tasting sour in the name of sweet. The title 'Fitting Master' with Allari Naresh in it would obviously give an impression that it is an out and out comedy entertainer. But it is not so. It's blended with melodrama, weeps, shouts, fights and all sorts of ingredients that a serious film possesses. Although the maker of the movie attempted to give a message to today's youth those are falling in love and marrying without the consent of parents, the title and expectation didn't match. It is true that audiences those love to laugh on the occasion of festival will walk into theatres to watch this film. But they will be disappointed for watching a serious movie with scattered comedy.

And it is not a film for Allari Naresh, at this juncture. Although EVV tried to bring an image make over for Naresh, this film didn't serve the purpose as it's made with obsolete content.

Final Analysis :

The film may get some initial mileage in B, C centers but on a whole it cannot be considered a wholesome entertainer.

Cast: Anushka, Sonu Sood, Deepak, Manorama, Sayaji Shinde, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Ahuti Prasad etc
Release Date: 16th Jan 2009

Movie Review

Story

Arundhati (Anushka) belongs to Gadwal samsthanam in 1920’s. She is known for her bravery in saving the Samstanam by killing Pasupathi (Sonu Sood) an evildoer who creates ruckus in that place. She is praised as Jejemma (named after the famous Goddess in that area). But the spirit of Pasupathi haunts that place. Another girl is born in the same lineage after 3 generations and she is named as Arundhati. The spirit of Pasupati is after Arundhati to take the revenge. The rest of the story is all about how Arundhati puts an end to the evil spirit of Pasupathi.

Artists Performance:

Anushka: This is Anushka’s first performance oriented film and she is simply amazing in two roles. There are many shots in the film where the scenes from the present time will dissolve into to flashback and vice versa. These scenes are done on Anushka are crucial in the film. She has to show the variations between the old Arundhati and new Arundhati. She did exceptionally well with subtle yet impact creating performance. Shilpa and Sowmya dubbed the voices of old and new characters respectively.

Others: Sonu Sood looks deadly in the role of Aghora. His performance is excellent. A special mention should be given to P Ravi Shankar who dubbed the voice of Sonu Sood. It is a great opportunity for any dubbing artists to get a role like this. The way he pronounces ‘ninnu vadalaa … vasta .. vasta’ is extremely good. Sayaji Shinde got a beautiful role ‘Talla Sayibu’ in this film. He is completely believable in that role. Manorama is very good. Deepak is nice. Satyanarayana and others are good. All other artists are appropriately cast in their roles.

Technical Departments:

Story of the film is good. Screenplay is very good. The beauty of this screenplay is about revealing the story and information in parts. There is always something to look forward to with anticipation in the film. It possesses one of the best screenplays in the recent times. Direction by Kodi Rama Krishna is very good. However, there are a couple of violent scenes that are disturbing to the family crowds. You can see a few Hollywood inspirations like Lord of the Rings. A couple of episodes (the thread of drum dance by the guru & establishing Arundhati as the warrior) should have been more effectively established.

Visual effects and graphics done by Rahul Nambiar are extraordinary. Cinematography by Senthil Kumar is excellent. Background music and rerecording by Koti is brilliant. The songs in the film go with the flow of narration. Art direction by Anand Sai is first-rate. Make-up work is good. Editing is smooth. Digital Ingredient (color grading) is very good. Production values of this film are extravagant.

Final Analysis:

First half of the film is excellent and the second half is good. The plus points of the film are performances, screenplay, technical values and grandeur. The only negative point I see in this film is violence (got an A certificate from censors), which is very much required for the film to be effective. After a long time, I watched a Telugu film that has both content and technology rightly mixed to give a vibrant output. Arundhati is a film which you can proudly show it as a Telugu film to all your non-Telugu friends. And it will live up to the adjective of ‘Magnum Opus’. Two thumbs up to Shyam Prasad Reddy for making a brilliant film. Don’t watch it on internet or pirated DVDs. Arundhati is a film that must be watched in a good theater with nice sound/projection system.

Story

Visually impaired youngsters Siva (Shivaji), a deaf (Srinivas Reddy) and normal guy Pandu (Ali) are good friends
and they live together. They meet a beautiful orphan Anupama (Anchal) and give shelter to her. In the mean time, Siva falls in love with her. But there is a twist in the tale. She actually is running away from a goon called Bahadur (Mukul Dev) who pressurizes her to love him and she has a lover too.

Total Analysis:

S.V.Krishna Reddy who lost his magic long back comes with Mast this time to regain his past glory. But the movie clearly proves that SVK is still languished in early 90’s and his style of narration is clichéd and boring. The film’s story is copied from Bollywood film - Tom Dick and Harry (2006) which itself was remake of Tamil movie 123. Only basic point is taken for it and changed the story (if there really exists?) with old-styled jokes, half-baked scenes.

Not a single scene in the movie is praise worthy. Most of the movie seems like a street play. Nor are the performances are good. Technically too it is substandard.

Sivaji does overboard in the role of blind person and he looks like a buffoon most of the time. Ali and Srinivas Reddy try hard to create laughs but their weak characterization has no scope for it. Newcomer Anchal shows off her assets but she doesn’t have grace. Mukul Dev (of Krishna fame) does a guy of sadistic villain and he is okay.

Director SV Krishna Reddy might have directed some memorable movies in the past but his flicks in the recent times are scaring the audiences. Of all his recent bad movies he delivered, this one takes the cake.

Finle Analysis:

Mast is an entirely avoidable film. A big bore. No two ways about it. One wonders how does corporate company Zee Motion pictures okayed this dumb script.

Banner: Apoorva Chitra

Music: Sri Vasanth
Cinematography: Murali Mohan Reddy
screenplay & Direction: Hari Charan Prasad
Editing: Ravindra Babu
Producer: Hari Charan Prasad & Sukanya
Cast: Shafi, Mithuna, Madhavi Latha, Siva Krishna, Roopa Devi & Rallapalli etc
Release Date: 23rd Jan 2009

Review

Story

A doctor (Shafi) comes to a village along with his family to serve the villagers as a part of his social service activity. When he visits a temple, the priest over there makes him to see things that are not visible for a naked eye. He also gets premonitions that enable him to see the glimpses of future. A ghost contacts him. The rest of the story is all about how the doctor unearths a murder mystery.

Artists Performance:

Shafi is good as the doctor who goes through psychological transformation. Though his Telugu is good, he need to get his pronunciation right with perfect diction. He has a strange style of delivering dialogues. Mithuna is adequate as an understanding wife of Shafi. Madhavi Latha doesn’t have much role to play in the film though her character is pivotal for the film. Rupa Devi who did the role of an occult practicing woman is highly convincing. Siva Krishna and Rallapalli are adequate.

Technical Departments:

Story of the film is good. The story is based on an English novel called ‘Stir of Echoes’ (1958) written by Richard Matheson. This novel was made as Hollywood film with the same title in 1999. Richard Matheson is a celebrated writer who wrote novels which were later adapted into popular films like I am legend, The legend of a hell house etc.
irection is adequate in parts. Narration of the film is slow. Screenplay of the film should have been written in an interesting way. The flashback episode which shows the murder of the girl is not effectively shot. If we carefully look at the threads in the film, all of them possess ingredients of an interesting thriller. But the director could not use all these threads to give a proper ending in the climax. These interesting threads are –

1. Baby girl speaking with the spirit.
2. Hero communicating with spirit.
3. Premonitions and the ability of the hero to foresee the future events.
4. Occult practicing woman following the hero and inviting him to come to her at the time of difficulty.

Our horror/thriller film directors use dimly lit place and darkness to create chilling effects. But the director Hari Charan stayed away from using such tricks and he stuck with the content. Another interesting thing I observed in this film is overt affection between the couple in the film. Husband and wife hold their hands and affectionately touching when they go out. We don’t see such practice in our Telugu commercial films.

Other departments:

Songs scored by Sri Vasanth are good. But songs are not required in this film, especially the hero’s love and wedding song (no relevance to the story). Rerecording and sound mixing is very good. But at times, sound was used excessively. Cinematography is adequate. Editing should have been better. Dialogues are ok.

Final Analysis:

The story idea is good. But the director didn’t adapt it onto the screen properly. A better screenplay and an interesting narration would have helped the movie to reach the crowds effectively. This kind of story has commercial appeal to it, but the director treated it more like an art film.

Cast: Srihari, Krishnamraju, Sajitha, Suhani, Ram Kiran, Yashpal Sharma, Dharmavarapu, Venu Madhav, Raksha, Chitram Sreenu, Naga Babu etc
Release Date: 31st Jan 2009

Movie Review :

The essence of patriotism and love for country has always stood the best bet when it comes to the audience so here is one man who is trying to weed out the problems of terrorism in his own style. A form of reverse engineering is being adopted here, so let us see how he does that.

Story:

Srisailam (Srihari) happens to be the bus driver of a college. But the real truth is, he is there to assassinate the vice chairman of the college, retired army man Krishnadevaraya (Krishnamraju) and he is sent by the dreaded terrorist Ashfaq Khan (Yashpal Sharma) from Kashmir. There is also a love track going on between Krishnadevaraya's son (Ram Kiran) and the pretty girl Likitha (Suhani) and she takes the help of Srisailam in winning the heart of the hero. On the onset, while this seems to be the plot, the real truth is Srisailam is no ordinary bus driver but an army major with the Indian army who has got a more deeper mission than just to kill the retired army man. What is that truth? Why Srisailam wants to bring about a change? All this forms the rest of the story.

Artists Performance:

Real Star Srihari who has come back as the lead hero could have looked at a better script and though his role had a lot of significance, it was not etched out well. Despite that, he has given a very good performance and came out with impressive effect.

Krishnamraju looked mature and elegant, Sajitha was there for the glamour, Suhani was a face in the crowd.

New face Ram Kiran brought disgust with his hair style although looked well in presenting a step in dance. He needs lot of grooming if he is serious to play lead roles. Right now, he has just a junior artiste look. Yashpal was not used to his complete caliber.

Venu Madhav was alright, Dharmavarapu's imitation of yesteryears actor Nagabhushanam failed to impress and also brought frustration. Raksha was regular. The others need no mention here.

Coming to other faculties, the director came up with a weak narration and poor presentation. The script had many loose ends and the sequence arrangement was horrendous leading to a lot of confusion and disarray of the story. The music is poor and the cinematography could not capture the locales of Kashmir to the extent required.

On a whole it is a vain attempt by the director who made several mistakes. How can Srihari's death be programmed in tune with the functioning of a bomb? How can a major kill a group of Pakistani army soldiers just by spitting liquor on them and firing? There are many faulty situations which cannot be explained here.

Final Analysis:

Though the cast had full ammunition in the form of Srihari, Yashpal Sharma, Krishnamraju on the serious front and Venu Madhav, Dharmavarapu on the lighter front, the film failed to capture any attention. There were no gripping scenes and the depth and gravity of the plot were missing.

On the other hand, the length of the movie made things more difficult for the audience along with the unwanted songs. Srihari has been riding high with his special character roles and he should have taken care in choosing the right kind of script since it was his movie as a lead and it has been quite a while since he scored hits as a successful actor in recent times. The film has got poor technical aspects, poor storyline and direction.

Screenplay: Vikram Siri - Deepak Raj

Producer: Nallamalupu Srinivas
Story & Direction: Kishore Kumar Parthasani
Cast: Siddhardh, Tamanna, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna, Nassar, Samrat, Karuna, Sudha, Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Hema etc
Release Date: 5th Feb 2009

Movie Review

Story

Siddhardh is a playful youngster with no emotions. His parents get separated in his childhood and he stays with his mother. He falls in love with Geeta (Tamanna) who comes to Hyderabad from a village. When she introduces him to her father (Nassar) he says the he would give the hand of his daughter to him if Siddhardh unites his parents. The rest of the story is all about how Siddhardh unites his parents (Ramya Krishna and Prakash Raj).

Artists Performance:

Siddhardh is lovable in the role of a youngster. His emotions in the drinking scene are nice. His costumes suited him well. Tamanna is good as the girl who is torn between her father and her lover. Prakash Raj got lot of dignity to the role of father character he portrayed. He is excellent. There is a scene in which he acts like Robert Di Nero by saying ‘Aren’t you proud of me?’ three times (There is a famous ‘are you talking to me?’ episode in Taxi Driver film). Nassar is fair. Ramya Krishna is just ok in the role of doting mother with an attitude. Karuna and Samrat are adequate as buddies. Brahmanandam is good in most of the scenes (especially when he listens to ‘yeem’ in phone during Geetanjali spoof episode). Venu Madhav is good though his comedy is of mass type.

Technical Departments:

Story of the film is nicely divided into two parts. The first half is about two youngsters falling it love and hence it is targeted to the youth. The interval block is about heroine’s father putting a condition. The second half is about the couple uniting the parents of hero which is targeted towards the family crowds. The whole film is based on the point that Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna are separated. The reasons for the separation are not effectively established in the film. Hence the basic foundation of the entire film appears flimsy.

Screenplay of the film is adequate. Direction of the film is good in parts. The narration is very slow. The director did well in second half while handling emotional scenes. But he could not get it right when it comes to the romance aspect in the first half. He should be commended the way he integrated the songs into the film. The thread of ‘crossing marks on the people you dislike’ (‘flushing the photo in toilet’ from Jab We Met?) is interesting. Vankai curry thread is also good. The characterizations should have been more consistent. Both Siddhardh and Tamanna characters in second half behave little amateurish from the scene when they quarrel about Geeta’s surname.

Songs scored by Shankar Ehsaan Loy are excellent and they are picturized well and placement is perfect. Songs are so good that they dominated the story narration in the film. Lyrics by Sirivennela and Chandrabose are good. Mani Sharma’s background score is nice in the second half. Cinematography by Vijay C Chakravarthy is excellent. Dialogues by Abburi Ravi are neat in the second half. There are sentiment-oriented dialogues like ‘Evarikaina problem vaste amma nanna daggaraku veltaru. Amma nanne problem aithe?’ and Trivikramish lines like ‘nenu kaalu tho break veyyaledu, jaalitho break vesa’ (Brahmanandam). Editing by Srikar Prasad is adequate. Producer Nallamalupu Bujji should be commended for trusting his technicians and making this film with high technical standards.

Final Analysis:

First half of the film is average. Second half has got emotional content. The plus points are excellent songs and emotions in second half. The negative point of the film is slow-paced narration (2:50 hours runtime). The scenes towards climax appear prolonged. On a whole, KIKK is an okay film that is targeted towards family crowds. KIKK is not a film for the morning show crowds. It is more targeted towards second show crowds (family crowds).

Release Date: 12th Feb 2009

Movie Review

Story

Daya (Jagapati Babu) is a sincere cop and an encounter specialist. He handles his job professionally and does not hold anything personal. Salim (Kota Prasad) is his assistant who is greedy about increasing the encounters count so that he could get more publicity from the media. The city commissioner (Kota) is retired and a new commissioner takes the charge. The new commissioner has his own agenda and he discourages Daya from performing his duty in fair manner. The rest of the story is all about how Daya takes law into his hands and cleans up the mafia gang in his own indomitable style.

Artists Performance:

Jagapati Babu: Though this character is donned by Nana Patekar in Hindi, Jagapati Babu made sure that he interprets the character well enough to give it his own shape with subtle yet strong body language. You will see a new Jagapati Babu in this film and these kinds of characters give actors immense job satisfaction.

Kota Prasad (son of Kota Sreenivasa Rao) did a fine role in this film and he has it in him to become a fine actor if he chooses the roles well. His work in this film is very good. Sindhu Menon is adequate as the housewife. Kota Srinivasa Rao is perfect as a retired commissioner who supports hero. It is a different role for Narsing Yadav. The guy who did the role of Akhil is competent. Subbaraju did a small yet significant role. Mukul Dev did the role of Dubai based mafia don.

Technical Departments:

This film is a remake of Hindi film 'Ab Tak Chappan'. Hence the story and screenplay is adapted from the original. Most of shot compositions are also similar. But it is very difficult to create a soul in such a serious film without any commercial padding. As a director JD Chakri succeeded in narrating the film in an interesting way. He created a constant tone to the film and did not miss it throughout the film. Though he handled the film efficiently, we could see the tempo of the film going down for 15 minutes before the climax and 15 minutes before the interval. He did not show the scene of hero being captured by cops in a proper way towards climax.

Background music is nice and it is mostly taken from the tracks of Ab Tak Chappan background music. Cinematography by Bharani K Dharan is good. However, the director has used some footage from Ab Tak Chappan film for Mumbai dock episode. Dialogues of the film are realistic. But you need to carefully follow the dialogues because the there is no cinematic dramatization in the modulation and delivery of dialogues. Like in Hindi mafia flicks, this film too has many curse words. Editing is adequate. Producer Kiran should be appreciated for making such a serious film sans any commercial elements.

Final Analysis:

Siddham is a remake of Hindi film Ab Tak Chappan. The commercial elements in this film are subtle. It is like the story of Ankusam film told in a much realistic way. If Ankusam film had intense histrionics and compelling cinematic drama, Siddham film has subtlety and finesse to it. These kinds of films were never made in Telugu. Hence the common movie lovers of AP are not used to such kind of films. It is a decent effort by JD Chakravarthy and Jagapati Babu to make a film like Siddham. We have to wait and see how the regular movie lovers take this film.

Movie Review

Story

Satya (Rajasekhar) is an honest cop who is entitled with the job of bringing a terrorist-suspect Dr. Ansari (Atul Kulakarni) from Vizag to Hyderabad. A terrorist (Milind Soman) has a personal score to settle with Satya and his job is to help Dr. Ansari escape from Satya's custody. The rest of the story is all about how Satya does his job successfully.

Artists Performance:

Rajasekhar is adequate as an angry cop. Atul Kulakarni is excellent. Sivaji is ok as the playful cop. Siva Reddy is decent as a constable. Sheryl Pinto is average. Neetu Chandra is wasted in this film. An actress of her caliber shouldn't have done such an insignificant role. The Telangana dialect did not suit the character. Sanjana is adequate as the wife of hero in the flashback episode. Sayaji Shinde and Ahuti Prasad are fair. Politician M Satyanarayana Reddy acted as CM in this film and he entertains.

Technical Departments:

This film is a remake of Hindi flick Khakhi. Rajasekhar made some amendments in the beginning of the film. The rest of the story, screenplay and direction follow the pattern of Khakhi film. Jeevitha Rajasekhar who has shown some promise as a director with Seshu film fails to get it right with this film. Direction of the film is not up to the mark. We don't except her to do a few vulgar scenes (involving Sivaji and Sheryl) in her direction. Visuals of some of the scenes (railway transport) and a song (Aisa Jadoo Kiyare featuring Lara Dutta) are taken from Khaki film. There is also a scene targeting Chiranjeevi for using Mother Teresa image.

Final Analysis:

Satyameva Jayathe film is a remake of Hindi flick Khakhi. And no proper attention is paid while doing the script work and shooting the film. Hence you see glaring inconstancy throughout the film. Khaki was basically a nice made film and it was targeted to A class audiences. Satyameva Jayathe is a dumb-down version of Khakhi which mostly caters to B and C crowds.
